========== Mom #4 ========= * 10 mo old boy, ethan * daily schedule: * 6:30am wake up * 8:15 take ethan to day care / her mother's * 9:00 arrive at work * 6:00pm depart from work * 8:30 feed ethan dinner and put him to bed * 9:00 eat her dinner * 10:00 prep bottles and lunch for tomorrow * (only has "free" time after 9pm) * reads short things * started a novel in november and is on page 25 * reads a chapter every now and then from child development book * gets recommendations from other mothers and pediatrician * last couple of months, ethan has gotten much more interested in books * says its important to read to child even from the womb * reading helps put kids ahead in school * ethan's books * each of his books are small, 1.5 minutes in length * short attention span, can read to him a max of 6 minutes * pictures are vital * books are far more interactive (ex. fuzzy, pop ups) * ebooks would save her from having to pack up so many books for daycare * ideas: * make ebook interactive somehow? * parent could still be narrator but book could make character noises * book could show videos * but has to be parental choice, since videos have different purposes: * videos might excite Ethan while she's trying to put him in bed * must be short videos * child research service that shows recent research about children
